Chris Cornell, Psy. D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over ten years experience specializing in treating adolescents and young adults with issues related to complex trauma, substance abuse and emotional and behavioral disorders. He obtained his doctorate degree from the California School of Professional Psychology and received training in the treatment of High-Risk Youth at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
Dr. Cornell has served as the Clinical Supervisor of a forty bed adolescent residential treatment program for youth with co-occurring disorders and has extensive experience in the development of treatment programs for adolescents and their families. He is recognized as an expert in the treatment of youth with co-occurring disorders and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the psychological manifestations of child abuse, neglect and the psychological maltreatment of children and young adults. Dr. Cornell has lectured at national conferences on issues relating to the impact of trauma on neurological development and its impact on emergent psychopathology in children, adolescents and young adults, as well as on issues related to components of effective adolescent residential treatment, and he has taught at the Graduate Level.
