Treatment

Our Philosophy

Meridian Youth Treatment Center is a caring treatment facility presenting teens and young adults with the most up-to-date mental health treatment in a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment.  We provide stabilization and rehabilitation, address problems at home, school and in the community, teach pro-social skills and behaviors, frustration tolerance, anger management and moral reasoning, and provide educational services and therapeutic exploration.   Our treatment offers you and your family the hope and help that is necessary for creating positive change.  We are committed to delivering the highest level of care and providing you and your family with a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where teens and young adults gain a sense of belonging, competence, responsibility, and empowerment.  At Meridian we emphasize individual therapy, family therapy and parent support. We value the role that parents, siblings, and extended family members play in your life, hence they play an important role in the treatment.

Intensive Day Treatment

Our Intensive Day Treatment program offers a wonderful alternative to the higher cost of inpatient treatment when standard outpatient treatment is not enough. Unlike inpatient, where upon discharge the client has to be prepared for re-integration into the community, our Intensive Day Treatment program allows us to work with healthy integration during treatment.  Our Intensive Day Treatment program also enables you to live in the comfort of your own home without sacrificing treatment.

Our program incorporates a client-centered approach that includes attention to your individual behavioral, educational, emotional, physical, psychological, social, and cognitive needs. In treatment, we help empower teens and young adults to make changes in behavior in order to promote a positive, healthier lifestyle. We will assist you in recognizing and acknowledging the existence of destructive behaviors and mental health issues and to understand the impact these behaviors have on family and friends.

Meridian Youth Treatment Center offers stabilization and rehabilitation for oppositional defiant disorder, pervasive developmental disorders, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), conduct disorder, bipolar disorder, high risk behaviors, self-harm, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders.

Comprehensive Assessment

When you enter the Intensive Day Treatment program at Meridian Youth Treatment Center, you will receive a comprehensive assessment that looks at all areas of functioning. This thorough evaluation addresses your individual clinical, learning, developmental and emotional needs. With this information we develop individualized strategies that are designed to meet your specific needs. You may also receive a comprehensive evaluation by our psychiatrist. If you are being treated with medication, our psychiatrist will monitor your treatment while you are enrolled in our program.  It is essential that we understand the specific issues that you are dealing with in order to provide the most appropriate level of care, develop targeted interventions, and monitor treatment outcomes that are most important to you and your family.

Academic Program

If you are enrolled in school, our Educational Therapist will provide school services so that you can remain up to date with your credits. If you are behind or deficient in credits, the program at Meridian Youth Treatment Center gives you the opportunity to catch up.  Additionally, if you have difficulties or deficits educationally, our Educational Therapist can offer interventions designed to remediate learning problems and will help you develop skills that you will use both in and out of the classroom – organization skills, planning, and time management.

After-care

At Meridian Youth Treatment Center we are committed to your ongoing success. We support your success by developing a very detailed discharge plan designed with input from you, your family, and every team member that has worked with you and your family. Every person who enters our program receives a unique and individually tailored plan that outlines the things that need to be done to increase their chances of ongoing success.
